Do you need a valid Visa with AP

My wife\'s Visa has expired 10months back, but she has valid AP. Does she need a valid VISA to go outside the country or
just AP is sufficient. Somebody please post. My wife is planning to go to India and she is in this situation.

AP is the visa she\'ll need to show while coming back into US. She doesn\'t have to show the AP before leaving the country. Just make sure that the airlines authority at check-in take the I-94 out of her passport while departing US.
The expired visa stamp on her passport has no bearing whatsoever, as long as she is in status (AOS) (carry the 485 receipt to be safe), and has an AP to come back in.
