Its been 3 months since I got my Green Card, and 3 months on my new job ( my earlier project which was really long, around 5 years, got ended at the start of the year). Was on bench for about 3 months and got terminated, after termination got the GC and the new Job.

Now a days I feel like as if I am doing this Job just for the sake of money and to support my family. There is no Job Satisfaction, the heart wants to break free, to try some new Job , some new business which is of my liking, even though the money will be less in the start, but then the mind takes over the heart and says to keep on going like that keep on doing the current job. May be I will start liking it or may be I will get so used to it that it won't make any difference that I get satisfaction out of it or not.

I don't know , I am really confused  , guys what do you think ?

well, i can't talk out the post-GC feeling yet since I am still waiting for it. :D

But, one thing for sure is that we need to ask ourselves -- "what is the goal of my life? ", the GC quest is only part of it, be it successful or failure, it will not determine our life. Without it, you will not be in hell, with in, you won't be in heaven either. The life journey is long and uneasy. Only by understanding the goal and keep pursuing it, you will feel the joy.
The happiness is not the destination, it is the practice to get there.

May all of us have a happy life....

I absolutely agree with you.

When I was doing my school, I wanted to join good college, and I was working hard for that.

When I was doing good college degree, I wanted to have a good career and I was working hard for that.

When I was doing good work, I wanted to work abroad and I was working hard for that.

When I came to USA and worked for 6 months, I didn't have much plans ahead. All I was planning was how to enjoy week-ends and $$$$$.

I set up a goal of getting GC. Painful GC process!!!! I managed to wait 2 and a half years to get GC.

Now I have GC(2 months). None of my plans are towards improving my career or job. It is all about buying home, saving $$$ towards retirement, family, (still) enjoying weekends, etc.

Obviously, my career plans are dead. I am going to work just to keep the customer happy, which is mostly like service, not career or job.

"Searching_Help", I don't know your name. What I am doing is, talking with lot of GC holder(experienced ones), trying to develop new plans for the future. Analyzing, what they have been doing. Some have joined govt. jobs. Some are doing part-time jobs(I guess, security). Some are happy with their 8 hour service and are enjoying family. Some are generating more money in their retierment fund. Some are setting up their own business. Some are starting their own LLC and doing what their company was doing to him. But most of them are exactly like you only. Not much interested in work.

I know a gc holder. He is making good money from his job, still he started his own LLC and brings people from India and places them here.

I guess, most importantly, like what x30 says, we have to have some "active plan". It doesn't have to be work. If you are loosing interest in work. I guess you are normal human being. Just keep your current customer happy and work in the evening and week-ends towards your active plan.

Let me have your views too.

Searching help --- your problem is that you had been one company for too long ... 5 years is long enough to get used to it.

And when this job change happened 3 months ago, you found yourself in a new environment.

Give it some time...everything will be fine.
