Do you get a receipt # when you apply for EAD

My lawyer is not able to find the application receipt notice for my EAD renewal application sent on May 5. And thus I don\'t have a receipt number to check my case status. Is there anyone in similar boat? Is there any other way I can use to check the status?

Find your check that INS cashed out, bank returns to you with monthly statement. you can find your EAC-00-xxxxxx on your check written by hand. This is your EAD application receipt number.
