When I visited outside of the USA, the stamp on the passport (India) is very difficult to read the dates (you can read the month and some part of day, but cannot make out the year!!!)...Well, this is the great passport stamping folks in the Indian airport. I am sure some other posters here have that kind of smudgy stamps in the passport as well since this is quite common.
The re-entry back to the USA is clearly stamped - no issue. This was a very short 3-week trip from USA to India
QUESTION:
For the date of travel - the outgoing date is only based on the Indian stamp -which we cannot read. I know the dates of travel becos I have an email from my travel agent where I requested travel. (we exchanged emails while working out the dates)
Will USCIS require "proof of travel dates" on passport...I'm sure they have encountered smudgy ink stamps from Indian airports...are they used to this, and they dont really bother?
(NO - I dont have boarding pass or tickets, this is few years ago, and I did not retain those things).
