Hi Guys,

I have recently received my H1 after revalidation from St. Louis. I did not receive I-94 (fresh) alongwith it. will this be a problem
or whom should i contact to get new i-94. My I-94 has expired.

What is the normal procedure in case of revalidation visas regarding I-94?
That is doesn\'t the DOS issue us a new I-94 alongwith revalidated Visas (H1)

DOS doesn\'t issue the I-94

INS was supposed to issue a new one with the approval notice. You may have serious problems here, or it may be nothing, but you need to find out what is happening NOW. If your I-94 has truely expired you are out of status, employed illegally and accumulating overstay. Hit 180 days of overstay and you will not be able to reenter the US for 3 years.

Hoipefully, you were issued a new I-94 with the approval notice and just don\'t realize it.

I think you got the i-94, which is comes along with your H1-B1 papers. Look at the bottom the of the first page of your H1-B1 approval notice.

It is H1-revalidation only not a new approval

Hi
Thank u for responding.

My case is as follows::

I have a H1 form I-797 approved till Dec 1 2002, but intially my visa was stamped till Feb 1 2002 and so accordingly when I entered USA I was issued an I-94 till Feb 1 2002. Later on in Jan\' 2002 I sent my documents to DOS, St. Louis for revalidation or extension of my visa using the old H1 which is valid till Dec 1 2002.

Now my visa is extended till Dec 1 2002 and I received my passport.
But I did not receive the I-94 alongwith new visa.

I do not know whether St.Louis issues a new I-94 along with extension or not. Is there a chance that DOS issues a new visa(extension), the INS database gets updated automatically and not issue a new I-94 for revalidation or extension cases

Kindly guide me how should I go about it.

Thanks in advance.

Look at the bottom of the I-797 form at the bottom right hand side. It should be a new I-94, clearly marked as "departure/arrival record" and having the same number as your older I-94 card that you had filled up when you arrived at your port of entry. If you do not have one, read the first message from Jim on how to act right now!!!
