do we need to bring the copies of state tax in past 5 years? I didn't keep the copies for all the state tax. Can I request the copy or transcript from state tax office? Thanks very much for your information.

If you can, it will be good, at least for 2008 or 2009.(if you filed already)...or Even better, if your state revenue agency could produce some form of statement or transcript showing that you do not owe any taxes and always filed on time... Again, it is not a big deal unless you have checked :" Yes" to non-resident filing OR owing taxes OR failing to file ...

Remember this documentation is for your own comfort to support your own answers to N-400. Eg. if IO inquires about your taxes, you can shows this type of documentation to support your N-4000 answers...The same is true...for the other questions. Also, sometimes, having copies of state taxes can help with residency questions.

Is there a link from where we can get state taxes? I got Fed taxes by calling them, which was easy, does that contain state tax info too? or it is a separate process?
