Do we need EAD to enter

If I am entering on AP , then Do I need to have valid EAD also to enter at POE or just AP and 485 receipt is fine...

any experiences
 
AP and 485 receipt are all you need.
EAD is not a valid permit for entering into US.

But there have been cases, when the officer at POE has asked for EAD. If you have it, well and good. But if you don't it shouldn't create a problem.

You could be a stay at home derivative applicant who decided not to apply for EAD as you may not have been interested in employment.
 
Don't even need 485 receipt. The AP in itself is sufficient and enough to allow you to enter the US. Convincing the people on the airline and your city of embarkment is a totally different story!
 
I was asked to show the EAD. I asked the imm off whether its mandatory. He said, carry it if u have it.

Again EAD has NO relevance to entering the country on AP! EAD is work authorization. A number of people don't even apply for one. The only thing I see you might need is 485 receipt but that too is doubtful. I guess the key in the immigation officer's statement is the "carry it, if you have it", more as a safe thing, but in this case there is NO NEED!
 
Couple of days my wife came back from India, at Chicago POE IIO asked only for Advance Parole. Along with AP, she was carrying her 485 receipt, EAD and my 485 receipt copies. I have given those in case she needs. No Problems at all..
