You can also check your airline website (nwa and delta have this). It should be a section named like "Travels documents needed" "Travel plan" etc. What documents you need depend upon where youve visited in the last few days, whethre there is a change of airport in italy etc. etc.

You will need a valid visa stamped in your passport. If you have a advance parole visa you should be good too.

If you are in India, why not fly direct - New Delhi/Mumbai to JFK.

Hi JustGC007, I know this is almost 2 years old, but how was your experience going through the Italian airports with an AP? Did they check for transit visas? Which airport did you fly through btw? Thanks.

I am assuming rules have not changed since March 10. 2008. No you do not require Transit Visa to fly through Italy. I went on Advance Parole to India and back. Flew Alitalia Ariways transit through Milan. Whiel going, no one asked for anything, while coming back, they do check for a vlaid Adavnce Parole.
