Do we have to leave the country or what ?

My wife is on a tourist visa ( B2 category ) and recently got her H1B approved. Her I-94 for B2 expires on Oct 25, 2005. In her H1B approval notice she has received a new I94 I – 94 which starts from 10/01/2005 and is valid upto 09/30/2008.

Can she continue to stay in the US now that she got a new I94 or does she have to go back to her country of origin and get the new H1B visa stamped ?

She doesn't have to get a new visa in order to stay in US. She can begin working after 10/1/05; the I-94 is the offical authorization to work and stay in US. However she will need a new visa in order to return to US after travelling abroad.
