Hi everyone, I got my passport stamped yesterday at Miami office. The officer took my original approval notice and I-94, is that OK, I mean do we not need I-94 anymore? Moreover, he said that I'll be receiving my card in six months, Whereever I read, it said 4 to 6 weeks, I'm not too much concerned at this point, but just curious. Please share your experience.

nuzhat,
Is the I-94 you're refering the original card when you entered the US? Is it expired?

You don't need the I-94 any more

Yes, they take the I-94s. As your status have been adjusted and now you're a permanent resident, you don't need an I-94 any more. That's a document required by non-immigrants to stay in the country.
How long you GC will take to arrive depends on the Miami office and TSC. Miami must send the I-89 you signed to TSC and then TSC must send the request for the plastic card to the manufacturer. Lately is taking around 2-3 months. Probably the officer was just giving you a safe time. If you don't get it within 6 months, then you should start an inquiry. In the meanwhile your passport's stamp is the only document you need.

BTW, Congratulations...
Rich
