I wanted to know the experience of forum members in working with the SAO office.

there has been no LUD on my case since April and I noticed some other DO (San Diego) etc - the entire case has been processed since April

wanted to know the experience of others on how the office was in terms of speed and backlog.

thanks

San Antonio filer here! Will keep you posted on my experience. Have received NOA's and FP appointment approx. at the same time as others in these forums, give or take a couple of days, but my applications are still at the NBC. Last two reported family based AOS cases on trackitt.com appear to have been completed in 90 days only.

Thanks all of you for posting your timelines, very insightful. mn77845, I'm curious, you had your Bio appointment in Houston even though your DO is San Antonio? I'm wondering why they did that?

Those of you who completed your interview at the San Antonio DO, can you comment on if you received the I-551 stamp? If you had a nonimmigrant visa in your passport, was it cancelled "without prejudice" after your interview even if your name check was not complete yet?

No stamp, since namecheck is pending. No visa cancellation either.

what does it mean cancelled "without prejudice" ?

It means your visa is cancelled because it's no longer applicable to your new status, or you get a new visa, for instance. Essentially, it means your visa was not cancelled because you violated some immigration law.

I've had one or two of my nonimmigrant visas cancelled this way, when I got new visas that replaced them. It's stamped across your visa in your passport. Looks scary when you see it the first time.

Good! So I'm assuming if I get an interview that ends with pending name check, the policy at San Antonio is to have me keep my H-1B visa until the name check is completed? I ask because I may need to travel after my interview, so retaining a valid entry document is critical.

I presume that is the way it is, I still have my I-94 and my valid H1B visa.
