Do kids come to the consulate?

My husband and I are awaiting our interview date at the Montreal Consulate. We have not yet received PKT 4. We have two children (age 7 and 11) who have been included in our application and we expect to have to fly from California to Montreal for processing. Do we have to bring the kids? If not, can we just cross the border with them later (perhaps closer to home - the west coast). If so, do they have to attend the interviews at the consulate, or just cross the border with us right afterward. Thanks in advance!

Hi,
If kids have been included in the application for PR then, they need to come for the interview. There is no choice.

Please do not bring extra people to your visa interview, including your American citi
