Do I still need to go under the Industry Cap

Hi,

I got my visa processed through a consultant in september 2004. Before that could come through I started working for a university on my OPT. And this visa through the consultant came through in febraury. I continued to work for the university by transfering my visa to the university track. Now my question is " If I get a job in the industry do I still have to go through the H1Cap? Holding an H1B from the industry does it help at all?
