Do I report my status change to DMV?

Last July I received my EAD by marrying to my USC wife. I first obtained my Learner's Permit and 30 days later my KY Driver's License. I was only given a valid DL till my EAD expires, this year's July. In the meantime, I received my GC and my question is, do I have to let the State Police know that I became a Permanent Resident?
I remember, when I was getting my DL, there was an question on the application asking if I was a US Citizen or a LPR and of course I left it unmarked, since I hadn't got my GC yet and I'm not sure if it makes a difference to just leave it that way and get it renewed when my DL expires or is it required by law to let DMV know of my status change.
Thanks!

You are gonna have to do it in July anyway, just get it out of the way now, they will now issue you a license with a regular expiration date according to your state law.

You're right, I get it done ASAP, I was just wasn't sure that if I didn't do it right away, will there be any consequences, but probably not more serious than a verbal warning by authorities to do so.

You don't need to update the DMV about your status until the license expires. But you can go ahead and take care of it now if you want.

Note that they normally make the license expire X birthdays in the future (where X is the number of years they grant licenses for in your state), so if your birthday this year is before your current license expires, you'll gain a year of license validity if you renew it after your birthday.
