Do I need visa to visit Canada ? (I-140 approved)

I am wondering whether I need a visa to visit Canada ?
My country (South America) requires a visa for sure, but I read in the Canadian embassy website that "people that has an alien registration card or other proof of US permanent residency don't need visa to Canada".

I have EAD and AP and therefore an alien#.
I am wondering whether someone with I-140 + I-485 pending is considered Ok to enter Canada ?

If you have valid AP then you can goto any country and come back to USA. You need to use AP to reenter USA not to goto another country. You need to take VISA to visit Canada or any other country.
