Do i need to send prooof of having return ticket?

When applying for INS to extend my B2 visa, some sources say I have to send a copy of a return ticket. If the return date on the ticket is beyond the date on my original I-94, won't INS realize that I intended to extend my visa even before my coming here? My application is pending and my I-94 expired in Dec 2002. The return date on my ticket is June 2003. Should I send the copy of the ticket now when they are asking me for more documents?

Sponsers bank balance
(although we had send in all these info when we initially applied)
