Do I need to send additional information to USCIS voluntarily?

After waiting for almost one year and experiencing serveral layoffs, I decided to file I-485 by myself without I-140 approval notice provided by the current employer. But recently, by a rare chance, I got the approval notice which I had been fighting for almost one year. I contacted my attorney's assistant and was told by her it was not necessary since USCIS already issued the LIN number for my I-485 case at the beginning of this month. She also said the I-140 approval notice could be mailed out as per USCIS's request. However, since another round of layoff is imminent, I don't want to waste any time. What should I do? Follow that lady's advice or act immediately? Please help! Thank you!
