Do I need to renew my EAD?

My 2nd EAD is expiring on 02/28/2006. I haven't used my EAD so far. I am still using my H1B which expires on 05/05/2006. My company has applied for 7th year extension of H1B about 3 weeks back.

My PD is 09/2002 (EB3) and my I-485 is pending.

I think you don't need to renew your EAD if your company pays all the fee for extending your H1B,keep H1B is safer than EAD, because once I-485 is rejected, you lost staus with EAD. My company won't pay a penny for me, so I choose applying EAD, which is much cheaper than extend H1B.
