Do I need to inform USCIS: switch from H1B to EAD?

Hello there:

My H1B will expire by the end of this month. Currently I have a valid EAD and I plan to use the EAD instead of renewing my H1B. I have a couple of questions:

Do I need to inform USCIS about that? If I do, what is best way to do that: call, email or mail?
