Do I need to have H1 stamped for my wife's H4

Hi friends and gurus of of the forum,

I am on H1B for my current employer for the past few years and the H1 on my passport(for the same employer) was expired but I kept extending my H1 from time to time.Now if my wife(who's in India) wants to go for H4, do I have to get my h1 stamped before she can get her H4. As you know, getting H1 stamped in Canada/Chennai(I'am from south india) is a nightmare.

Could you let me know your experience in cases like this. I mean, can she go to Chennai with my approved H1B petition(which obviously have I-94 and 797) details.Is this possible?

H4 visa

As per requirement its not required for you to get it stamped on ur passport. Your wife can go to stamping with ur approved I129, there shouldn't be any problem.
