Do i need to fill form I9 to work on EAD?? need advise

My employer wants me to fill form I9.
so that he can start running payroll using EAD instead of H1 status.

Is this true ?? do i need to fill form I9 ????

please calrify my doubt if any one knows about this form ???

Is it ok to fill this form I9.

Yes, Go ahead and fill in this form. Its not anything that anyone hasnt done it in the past. Without you filling your I-9 form, your new employer cannot/will not generate your payroll since you are now working on EAD.
