DO I need Tax return with I-485 or only W2 will do.

Hi Guys

I have W2 forms for past all 3 years which I gave it to my lawyer. I only have tax returns of last one year as previous to that I filed my tax return by myself and don' have record of it.
My lawyer said its ok, we just need to give a reason that "You filed by urself so you don't have it" and its not a problem.
I just wanted to know, will it be a problem or an obstacle for I 485 approval?

No need for Tax returns unless specifically asked for by USCIS( Personally I have not heared that they would request tax returns. Heard plenty of W2s though). Last three years of W2 is more than enough.
I believe for citizenship you might need tax returns...
