Well - my question is regarding sending copies DS-2019 to DOS for J-1 waiver
My status:
I am on a J-1 visa under J-1 Research Scholar since sept 2006 and its valid until March 2008. Prior to this I completed my PhD in Uk and came to US on
J-1 Research scholar category to work in a university in February 2005 and stayed here until February 2006.
I should not have been given J-1 Research scholar category again in Sept 2006 because I am returning within 6 months of leaving this country (12-month rule, they shoulod have given J1 short term scholar). That was mistake by University (good for me) and even consular officeer at London US embassy did not bother and issued me a visa
My Question:
I am planning to send statement of reason and J-1 waiver application to DOS. Along with application Do I need to send photocopies of all DS-2019 documents or only the latest one.
My fear is that they might think I returned to US within six months after leaving on my first J-1.
Will this affect the Waiver decision by DOS.
