Do I need passport to apply for greencard?

I just got my US citizenship, now do I need a copy of the US passport to send with my wife's green card application? Or is sending my naturalization certificate copy good enough? I applied for the passport almost a month ago and I still haven't gotten it yet.
 
the certificate is enough proof, having or not a passport does not make you a citizen, it's just a tiny book you get so you can travel.

Certificate is good enough. FYI, a passport is also another form of proving your nationality.
