Do I need IRS Tax Transcripts or copy of the tax returns is sufficient?

I don't have the transcripts from IRS for the past three years in terms of my tax returns but I do have a coy of the 1040 form I submitted for the past three years. Will this be sufficient to sponsor my sister for a visitors visa from the Chennai consulate? Thanks.

copy of tax returns and W2 are sufficient

that should be good enough

but the visa officer only took DS 156 and DS 157 forms. I had sent all the possible documents and copy of 1040's and W2. I dont think they need or look for any of the documents.
