do I need i-140 amendment?

Hi all,
I was working for company A that applied for my 140 and 485. GOt layed off after two months of applying. But the company agreed to not withdraw/cancel the i-140 as they have the intent to employ me. I also have my EAD approved. (atleast till now!) I complete my 6 months (180 days) of filing 485 in the midst of Feb . As such it's not complicated enough, my company is being bought by other company and will change it's name and tax id some time in 2 nd quarter.
Do I need to file i-140 amendment (Vermont service cneter) or 'coz more than 180 would have passed on i-485 at the time the company name and tax id changes, I can just wait for 140 approval and then apply AC 21 to change the employer to new employer? My final intent is apply for AC 21 so that I can change it to my current employer.

Any inputs will be appreciated.

My friend passed through the similar situation. He did not do amendment but got an RFE. In the response to RFE he amended the I-140. My suggestion would be wait for the CIS. In case it gets approved do not do any thing. Just use AC-21. By the by my friend is still waiting for decision since 6 months.
 
Exactly at the same stage !!

Iam exactly at the same position. I was layed off after 180 days from 485 notice date, but i dont have my 140 approved. Iam planning to wait out to see if i can get my 140 approved with out RFE. If that is not then i would use AC21 and amend later with the RFE.
