Do I need a Hong Kong/Singapore transit visa?

Dear folks,
Please help me here... I am traveling from US to India, through Hong Kong and Singapore route (Cathay Pacific airlines). My question is "Do I need any transit visa in Hong Kong or Singapore"? I have a stop of 1 Hr 15 Min in Hong Kong and 9 Hr 15 Min in Singapore. I do not intend to go outside of the airport. Did someone who recently traveled this route share his/her experiences (regarding transit visa requirements)?

I got reply emails from Hong Kong and Singapore embassies too that I don't need transit visa.
