I recently received an approval letter from bcis indicating that condition on my marriage based GC is removed. They have asked me to come with photographs and it will take upto 6 months to issue GC.

Meanwhile, I am already becoming eligible to apply for citizenship. My question is can I apply for it without having copy of valid "greencard" (the older has expired) using passport stamp and the approval letter.

Your help is greatly appreciated..

Hi there!

I think the concensus here is that you can apply even without the physical green card, as long as you can proof that you filed I-90.

I am sure somebody with more knowledge on the subject will chip in soon.

Cheers!

you need to mail a copy of the i-90 receipt letter with your case number...i am in the same boat...my gc is expired so applied for i90 and n400 togethor
