do i need a dat visa for uk???

hi, i will be travelling to india very soon, i have few questions
do i need a direct airside transit visa if i have a valid b1/b2/ multiple entry visa on my passport and have applied for AOS and will be travelling on an AP.
inother words
i will be travelling on a AP ,but i have b1/b2 mult.ent visa stamped on my passport is it void now as i have applied for AOS i 485 pending. so for that do i need to apply for DAT visa for uk???
 
I traveled to India in Sept 04 on my AP, at the time the airline told me I didn't need a DAT visa for UK. However this is not true.

Enroute to India we stopped off in France and I had the valid visa for France, so no problem there.

On the return to US we went into the Emirates office to change our departure date. It was at that moment, the airline agent informed me that I WOULD need to have a DAT visa to transit via UK.

I got mine done in a few days there (fortunately) and had no issues. Funny enough when my wife and I landed in UK, they didn't even check to see my DAT visa or ask for it at all.

My advise: better to be safe and get it if you are on AP. W/ GC you have no hassels.
