Do I have to notify employer after receiving Green Card?

About 2 years back, INS approved the petition filed by my current employer for me for O-1 status for 3 years. While all this time, I have been working on O-1 status, I also self-petitioned for EB-1 which was approved and I received my plastic Green Card about 2 weeks back. Because EB-1 process was self-petition, I never had to involve my employer for it. My employer does not even know that I have Green Card. Although there is no reason for me to hide it from my employer, but is it mandated by law that I inform them of having received Green Card.

To add another aspect to JoeF posting, your O1 visa may have automatically expired when your GC was approved. In this case the form I9 (the employer keeps it) is obsolete and you should complete a new one. I seem to remember that you are supposed to update the form every 3 years.
