Do I have to apply for I-485 ?

Hi guys,

I got married outside US. My wife is back in US and getting stuff ready to file I-130. Now since I am not in the United States, do I still have to file I-485 at some point? for that matter, do I (or my wife) have to submit any forms other than I-130?

I also have question about I-864. Is it required to be filed with I-130 or I just need it during the interview?

Form I-485 is used by a person who is in the United States to adjust to permanent resident status or register for permanent residence.

Since you are not in the U.S. now you cannot use this form. Go to www.uscis.gov for more information
