Do a search first on your question before starting a new thread

I have noticed a growing trend of new threads being started copiously on issues that have been discussed threadbare in the past. This is causing the information / opinion available in these forums on any given topic to become fragmented. To a degree this is inevitable, but can we first make an attempt to search past postings on these forums before initiating a new thread so as to keep the fragmentation to a minimum.
