Divorce Certificate

Hello Everyone,
I had filed for divorce about two months ago and I was able to file for a default judgment today since my Ex-Wife did not respond to dissolution of marriage. I was told by the court that I need to wait another 4 months to get the divorce certificate in California. Could someone tell me if I can still apply for K1 visa for my fiance when I don't have a divorce certificate. How would I satisfy the requirements of the Immigration of being single. Can I use another document since I don't have divorce certificate yet. Do I need to send the divorce filing papers to the immigration for proof. Any other alternatives. Please, help me

Thanks,

You need to be able to prove that you are free to marry to be eligible to file for a K1....that proof is a divorce certificate and it must be submitted with the K1 petition....so unfortunately youll need to wait until you have it in hand before you file.
