Divorce and waiting for permanant green card

This is my second marriage. We have been married since 2005. we never applied for 2 yr green card just the 10 year green card after 2 1/2 years of marriage. we went to the interview i the foreigner, got work permit, and lawyer said we were just waiting now for answer. however my wife said she wants divorce as i do too. weve been separated and unhappy. if i divorce waiting for permanent green card what will happen? Can i file for waiver of termination? we have no kids but this was real marriage for love so i dont have many worries other than it was second marriage. any advice? our interview for 10 yr green card was in july 2008 havent heard anything since other than work permit. originally came to usa on student visa.

Really? You haven't heard anything for a year? Wow...that's a long time. I think you should check on your case status or cal USCIS to see what's going on... maybe they sent you a green card and got lost on the mail....I may be wrong but I believe you should have gotten an answer by now.
