Lately I\'am reading a few cases about divorces after the gc and it implications on the citizenship on this forum. It will be of great help if someone can share such experiences about divorce after the gc and N400 applications like denial/delays/the whole timeline. I have been waiting since 02/28/2002 for my oath as the INS wanted my divorce papers (gave to them on 03/14/2002, the initial receipt of n400 application being on 01/29/2001 almost 17 months ago) for almost for 120 days for the oath letter.

Hi ramd My case is similiar to yours I was divorced and re-married and applied for citizenship in dec 2001 The officer only asked to sign a seperate paper which included the name of prior spouse and date of marriage date of divorce and the reason for divorce

I had my interview done yesterday and it went smoothly

I had already included a divorce decree with the application.

hope it helps

rbhatt123, help my friend on a question. is that true that your copy of decree is not original one since original one is at court house? and is divorce certicificate needed for n400? is it your idea or lawyer's to include decree with n400? and how to get certicificate? which state/city are you in? thanks.

hi Friend

my copy of divorcee is original I requested a copy of it from the local county court by paying $5 and they mailed it to me.

It was my idea of putting the divorce decree because I did not have any lawyer

you get the divorcee decree from the local county court check it out
I live in Atlanta GA
