This is meant as a message to give hope to some of you guys still hanging in the 245i loop.
Here are the ingredients:
1 EB-3 LC (regular) with a filing date of 4/29/01 (in horrible LC state)
1 EB-2 LC (RIR) with a filing date in 6/04 (in best LC state ever)
non-retro land
2 I140s (EB-2)
1 I130 (F-godawful priority)
1 I485
4 EADs (don't ask me why)
2 finger prints
2 biometrics
2 RFEs (1 on I140, 1 on I485 just before approval)
3 attorneys (1 horrible, 1 saviour, 1 so&so)
a new midsize car worth of attorney and filing fees
1 5 hr trip to processing center
1 wonderful compassionate USCIS officer (yes, they exist)

So, for anyone still in the 245i 'holding pattern'. There is hope. If your case is legit, no matter how complicated it is, there is a chance that you get approved without an interview or anyone ever asking as to what you did in the interim.
Keep your spirits up, and your profile low (particularly if you haven't filed your I485 yet). Make sure the break-lights on your car are in working order and that you wear a shirt and tie, whenever you leave your house
