Discrepancy in AP processing

My wife an I both applied for AOS on Aug 2007. My wife has received all her documents including AP but for some reason my AP is still showing pending. Is this a common occurrence in USCIS processing ?

My AP is under processing for the last 3 months, even though we got our APs. I guess AP is somewhat less important at NSC worker's book.
 
For some families they may happen to be approved at nearly the same time because they were submitted at the same time, but they don't deliberately and systematically process them together, so there will be other cases where the approvals are months apart.
