I just got my labor approved from Atlanta. My company is telling me that they will only file I-140 first and 3 months later they will file my I-485.
1) I need to know whether this way of filing (seperate filing of I-140/I-485 not concurrent)
will have any impact due to Ohato's Memo for concurent filing.
2) Disadvantages or advantages of filing seperate.
3) What would be the advantages for any company to do like this. (will the attorney fee be less if they do like this)
4) Are there any disadvantages for the benificiery
5) what would be the expected duration for my GC process if I file I-140 this month and three months later file my I-485 with Texas service center.
I am completing my 6 years period in 3 monts from now.
Any response is highly appreciated!!!
Please help!!!!!

Hi JoeF,
My Company is telling that. my questiion is
is it possible to file I-140 first and three months later file I-485.
I heard from many of my friends who have got their GC's that,
we can't file I-485 till our I-140 gets approved if we file I-140 seperately.
So, according to them I have to wait, I don't know how many years for my
I-140 getting approved and then fie I485 and again wait another 2 or more years to get I-485 approved. Is my employer kidding me? He want's me to stick to his company that long.

Pease clarify me regarding (file I-140 first and three months later file I-485)
Thanks!!!!

How filing I-140 and I-485 seperately works and what steps are involved

Only thing I need to know is how filing I-140 and I-485 seperately works and what steps are involved in this kind of filing. At what stage of I-140, I-485 can be filed. How does the GC processing work for seperately filed applicants.

Thanks for your earlier responses also

Appreciating responses in advance!!!!

So, we can't apply for I-485 until I-140 gets approved.

So we can file I-485 only after I-140 gets approved. That is what I wanted to know and most of the people told me. So we can't apply I-485 until I-140 gets approved.

I did'nt mean to do that. I just tried to highlight that phrase but it ended up coming this Big!!!!!!!

Thanks JoeF !
