My wife is out of the US on vacation currently and her vacation is soon coming to an end on Oct 1th. While on vacation she found out that she needs to get some kind of surgery done due to which she can’t travel for maximum a month. She works for the big three consulting company (EY, Deloitte, Accenture, etc). As an employee what benefits can she use to ensure that her job is secure? I am aware there is Short term and Long term disability, but this requires getting some kind of proof from a licensed doctor, but since she is out of the country she might not have an option of finding a licensed doctor. So what to do in this case?
Need help and advice. She wants to just make sure that her job is secure when she gets back.
