Hi All,
I just had a question. If you have a US GC and then get eventually get a Canadian PR. and if you decide not to land in Canada ? I guess you dont become a canadian resident ? Now does this impact your US GC when you travel using your passport because the Visa stamp is still there ? or will that create any issue when u decide to go for US CItizenship ?

Please give me some advice...

Thanks

If u do not land in Canada as a PR, then you clearly do not become a PR of Canada. I do not see how it can impact your US green card and the US citizenship in the future..

Thanks for your response.Much appreciate your help.
US GC and Canada PR is two independent requests. If you get Canadian PR after US GC, then it may show that you have intended to leave USA and may cause problem in proving your ties. This may requires you to show you ties to US while coming back at immigration. If you receive US GC after Canadian PR, then you are required to be in Canada for 2 years in 5 years time and will loose your Canadian PR after 3 years as I hope you will be in US to maintain you GC and Citz.

In the term of US citz, I do not think there should be any problem if you satisfy requirement for US Citz. One can make his mind to be in Canada but can eventually decide to be in US as US Citz and in your case you have not landed in Canada as yet.

Oh..

Thanks,OhNoo...another question

Thanks, OhNoo. I have another question for you. So, if i understand correctly....If you do not land in Canada and become a PR, then it should not create any problem if you intend to stay in US and satisfy US GC requirements, correct.

Since in my case, if i dont land in Canada, then it should not be an issue. Right ?

Thanks for taking the time to explain, Much appreciate your help.
