Hi there,
We have recently discovered that our petition is at Potomac Service Centre despite our state falling under Nebraska’s jurisdiction. This has hugely increased our expected time frame from 6-8 months to 11-14.5 months.
We only discovered this due to asking a question on USCIS and them advising us to look at processing times and that we must select ‘Potomac’ in our case.
My question is why is our petition there and not Nebraska? The information online suggests changes have been brought in to decrease processing times but it seems that the total opposite has happened to us.
How were we supposed to know that our case was there without asking an unrelated question and them telling us via inbox?
I’m just generally shocked and obviously upset that the process is going to take so much longer, and that’s without any complications and/or actually being within the processing time.
