Different interview dates for myself and my wife?

If our interview date coincides with my wife's Board exams in the US,can we request separate interview dates ,or bring forward the interview date at the Consulate?

If we do go separately,will she be exempt from retrogression if my interview is before retrogression and hers after ? I am EB-2 (Worldwide) and filing for both of us.

Any advice appreciated.
