Hi all,
I have gone through some immigration forums and I got confusion in differentiating LCA and LC.

1) How LCA and LC related to each other?

2) What is the diff btw LCA and LC?

Please any one of you answer these questions...

Thanks,

Thats fine. But, my question

Are both LCA and LC should be consistent (In the sense that degree and experience when applied to H1b LCA and GC LC) ?

My assumption: is that both are given by DOL and those two need to be consistent when LC transferred from SESA to DOL.

Is this assumption correct?

Thanks,

Are both LCA and LC should be consistent?

May or may not be. LCA is for current job and LC is about future job. They might be different depending upon individual scenario.

hi usnycus, i am new to this forum and I want to know the difference between LCA and LC. Please can you explain me a little bit clear.

A LCA, or Labor Condition Application, is used for an H-1 and is obtained online from DOL by submission of form ETA 9035. All that is necessary is to properly complete the form, certify that the employer is paying over the prevailing wage, and submit it to DOL. It is returned almost instantly in most cases. I could probably get one in less than an hour.

A LC, or Labor Certification, is entirely different. The position must be described in detail, the minimum requirements must be stated, the person's qualifications and experience must be recited. The LC is obtained by a written, normally very extensive, submission to state DOL including forms ETA 750A and ETA 750B. They review the paperwork and take action (they type of action varies depending on the type of submission (RIR or NON-RIR)). Once state DOL is finished with the LC, it is forwarded to regional (Federal) DOL for action. This process will take several months (at least) and could take as long as many years.
