My friend got employment verification letter from the employer and also requested and got the I-140 approval notice from the company’s attorney. Then he filed the I-485 by himself, for which he did tell the company. Now, the Company knew that he has filed the 485 and said he has committed fraud? Did he commit fraud? ( He is still employed in the company. )

Prima facia,I do not think he has committed any fraud, since i485 stage is the applicant's adjustment stage and has nothing to with the employment or job the person is doing or the employer during the adjustment stage.

Who said that? He is still employed in that company, then what fraud is it. As I know, the company attorney is for convenience, not a requirement.

As far as I know that I-140 is the employers petition and I-485 is the employees petition to adjust status based on the I-140. Technically he is under no obligation to inform the company about I-485...that is how I see things...I'm no expert

I wouldn't think he committed fraud for filing 485 by himself, unless he told his employer some reasons other than immigration to get the EVL.
