Hi Everyone...
I was wondering if we can get married after 2nd NL and successfully get GC for both...
If yes then what would be the consequences?
Can anyone please give some information about it or share the stories related?
Thanks,
RHHC

Hello my friend, I am dv 2010 winner, and yes I get married after I won and I get the visa me and my wife in 3 days. and our interview was before 2 weeks, so my answer yes, all what you have to do to send the forms for your wife to kcc

Thank you firo1234 for the reply...That really makes me more confident now...Can I please ask you couple of more questions?

As per ur reply u got married before 2 weeks of visa interview. Just making sure.
I am feeling like my number will be current sometime Feb/Mar 2011 and if I marry in Jan then I have to fill the DSP 122 and 230 again for both and send to KCC.
Also my fear is it's not being that long time that we met... do we have to provide some proofs except for the marriage certificate....coz the interviewer might say that u got married just to get GC... Please do provide some more information on this and the questions that was asked on interview time...
Your experience really makes difference in my life
Thanks

RHHC how long have you been together ?
"Also my fear is it's not being that long time that we met" how long ?
If it's only 6 months your risk running into troubles
I think you should have been together for at the VERY VERY minimum 1 year...
And you should be able to provide pictures, or other proof
other than that forget the marriage now....

RHHC, Hello my friend, I was in exact the same situation, I knew my wife for just a month before we get married, and yes I just bring a marriage cerifecate and thats it, and we were very honest in the interview and we make it, and yes please send the forms for you and your wife to kcc before the interview, and I am sure you will make it both of you also :)

Yes you can bring your wife but make sure you have all the proof for your marriage and also proof of your relation status.you may still enter the lottery if your spouse or both of your parents were born in an eligible country.

Thank you Jeffy14, firo1234, samuel5028 for ur warm replies... I just know my partner for 1-2 months....Now I am in dilemma if we should get married and send forms to KCC just before my number gets current. What would be worst condition in this situation.. Will I get the GC even if smth happens(hopefully not). And also will my interview date get postponed ( which I do not want) if we resend the forms to KCC or the date will be same as in the month when my number gets current
Please do help me to get the better info...
Thanks a lot

Help!!!

Its a relief to know that there are people who successfully got the GC even after getting married after 2NL.

My problem is that after i fill the form for 2NL i meet my boyfriend, now its almost 5 months, though its a short period we are very close and don't want to be apart. I am just 21 years old and my boyfriend is of 23 years old we still have lots of years left for the marriage. But we have heard that if i go alone it would take more than 5 yrs for him to come there through me. So we have decided to get married and apply together. I have even got the 2NL and my interview date is on 6th december, 2010. We don't have much time left, so i doubt if we get married now and apply they might think that we are doing it for the sake of visa, since we are very young.

Please help me what should i do....i am really very very worried....i don't want to go alone.
