Did any of you got 7th year ext based on pending sub labor

I am planning to get a 7th year ext on a pending labor that is not on my name, i heard it can be done but i want to know if any of have done it.
my 6 yrs are to be completed in jan 06, my company has filed a labor in 03 for someone else who is no longer with the company. if the labor gets approved they would sub for me but if its not approved by dec 15th, they plan to get me 7th year ext based on the pending labor.
has anyone tried this and did they get a ext. pls let me know

Do not hurt to try. The worst case is the ext is denied and you go home.
