Hi,

I am needing to re-locate to the US from Australia ASAP.

I am wondering if this is a possible way to get a visa. I have a couple of questions.

1. My mother was married to an American, and they divorced last year. I am a 25 year old, unmarried. Am I able to apply for a visa due to having 'family' there?

2. My aunty, who is 79 and just moved back from the US to Australia, after living there since 1948, has permanent residency through marriage. She will not be returning to the US at all. Is her green card or visa transferable to another family member, if she never does return? Like is she able to 'give it up'?

My girlfriend lives there and we are going through our options. But its just getting to the point of hopelessness...

Sorry id these questions are rediculous. I just really would appreciate some help.

Thanks

Hathwar, thanks for the reply.

S the only option is if we get married?

And the fact that I have connection with US family wouldnt matter at all? So, no?

Thanks Joe.

I looked into doing a college degree there in Physical Therapy (as that was my first plan), but the idea got shot down when they told me I am unable to work for the 4 years of the degree at UIC in Chicago.

Is this true?

Is there any way at all I can work legally while studying? I just cannot afford to support myself for the 4 years without an income.

The frustration its putting on my gf and I is rediculous.

Thanks

Thats interesting to know.
It just seems strange that they expect you to be able to support yourself for 4 years without being able to work. I would work like a mule, pay me taxes etc. Just seems very unfair.

Am I able to apply for the work permit at the same time as for the student visa?

Or do you have any suggestions and ideas that could get me there?

Its driving us mad. Seriously. We have talked about the marriage, but I am 25 and she is 23. But its our last resort.

Like i said before, my aunty has been living in the US for the last 50 years. Is there any way she can petition, or any option through her I can take?

As for her move to Australia, she is unable to as she has another 5 years of school. And she is in a very high up psychology school.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
