Derivative pending time after primary approval

Primary case has been approved back in 07/07/04, but derivative is still pending (almost 3 month), showing that FP results received in Jan 6, 2004.
Both cases has been submitted at the same time.

I was wondering what is the derivative "usual" pending time after primary approval.
Please share your experience.

Hi, Myxa,

If your derivative is NOT in the name check mess it is very strange. Call emergency California Center phone line and talk to the officer. If he/she starts telling you about special/detailed review then ask pointblank whether it is security review or not. If it is, then it is almost certainly name check with the FBI.

Thanks for the reply.

I have done numerous enquiries myself and via lawyer. So far the only response I got case is pending for additional security checks. Not sure whether it is specifically name check or not.

I've heard from this forum that if spouse got different last name, that could be the reason for delay. What wonders me, why they can't do name check in parallel.

It( is cetrtainly looks to me as a name check with the FBI.

If I were you I would (or rather your derivative) would start bothering FBI .

There is a lot of info on this forum- check Rahul Kumar's thread for example (just do a search on his name).

I was in the name check for 19 &1/2 months (I got the approval e-mail this week) so I know what kind of mess it is. It was too bad for me that I learned about this security check in my case too late (late July- it was done by mid August after my letters...)

Will initiate name check fax inquiry.

In the meantime it would be nice also to hear from fellow members who happen to be in same situation.
