Secretary of DHS announced on July 13 that he will announce in conjuction with Dept of National Security easing of visas for those who come to work or study.

Hope some good changes do happen to ease EAD and GC processing, besides other aspects of GC processing such as labor certi etc.

Let's hope for the best as things have been terribly low of late.

Chief of Homeland Security Announces Sweeping Overhaul

I found the news in online edition of NYT and link is :
http://www.nytimes.com/aponline/national/AP-Homeland-Security.html
(you might have to become a member to view and that is free).

The particular para reads:

The department also is trying to tighten security at U.S. borders, but Chertoff said doing so should not come at the cost of migrant immigrants who come to the U.S. to find work. He said he and Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice soon will announce plans to ease visa hassles for foreigners entering the country to visit, work or study.

Hope and pray, it is not a damp squib.
