I am a graduate student at the University of Texas, Houston, arrived January 2005. I have been married since Feb 2004 and had given all the details of my wife, on the Visa application form. I had not got a dependent's status on my initial I-20 and later added her as a dependent recently.
She has been refused a dependent's visa, the consul official saying that on my visa application form, it was said that my spouse would not travel with me, which was true at that time. The DS-156, entry number 34 requires to state whether the spouse would be "travelling" with me and so has been answered accordingly.
Has anyone gone thru such a predicament? Any suggested solutions to this?
